Offline trading journal software that keeps your data on your own computer
Xynara Trade Journal records every trade with the reasoning and the emotional state behind it, then turns that history into equity curve, profit factor, expectancy, drawdown and behavioural analysis. No account, no cloud upload, no subscription.
Perpetual licence for Windows 10 and 11. Free updates within version 1.x.
Illustrative equity curve. Your figures come from your own trade history.
A journal that measures the trader, not only the trades
Most trading journals record entries and exits. Xynara Trade Journal also records confidence, emotional control and tagged mistakes, then shows you how those variables map onto your profit and loss.
Fast trade logging
Only symbol, entry price and position size are required. Stop loss and take profit left at zero are treated as not set rather than zero. Symbol, market, method and indicators persist between consecutive entries in a session.
CSV and Excel import
Upload existing trade history, review the proposed column mapping, fill missing columns with a fixed value, and preview the first rows exactly as they will be saved. Duplicates already in the journal are skipped automatically.
Psychology tracking
Score confidence and emotional control per trade and tag mistakes such as FOMO or moving a stop loss. The Psychology view groups results by those scores so behavioural patterns become measurable.
Performance analytics
Equity curve, monthly P&L, calendar heatmap, profit factor, expectancy and maximum drawdown — the largest peak-to-trough drop in cumulative P&L.
Breakdowns by what matters
P&L by symbol, method, weekday and strategy. Win rate by strategy is colour-coded by net profitability, so a high win rate that still loses money is visible immediately.
Planned risk-to-reward trend
Average planned R:R by month. This can improve steadily while you are still losing overall — an early, honest signal that trade selection is getting better before results follow.
Dashboard with period filtering
Switch between this week, this month and all time. The dashboard summarises headline metrics, the cumulative equity curve, goal progress and your most recent trades, and remembers the period you chose.
Weekly and monthly goals
Set targets in the Goals tab and let progress update automatically from your recorded trades, so intent and actual performance sit side by side rather than in separate places.
Export — no lock-in
Trades export to CSV or Excel as a portable table for outside analysis or re-import, separately from the one-click full backup that packages the database and every screenshot into a single ZIP.
Your trading record is not someone else's dataset
Stored locally
Trades live in a SQLite database inside the application folder and screenshots in a folder beside it. Nothing is transmitted and no account is created.
Works without internet
The application runs entirely on your machine and opens in your browser as a local interface. It functions with the network disconnected.
Backup and export you control
Settings includes a one-click full backup that packages the database and every screenshot into a single ZIP, plus CSV and Excel export of your trades as a portable table. Your history is never trapped in the app.
A dashboard, four analysis views, and goals
Dashboard
Key metrics, the cumulative equity curve, goal progress and your most recent trades, filtered to this week, this month or all time.
Overview
The daily glance: headline metrics, equity curve, monthly P&L, the calendar heatmap and your planned risk-reward trend.
Breakdowns
P&L by symbol, method, weekday and strategy. Unlocks at twenty closed trades so conclusions are not drawn from too small a sample.
Psychology
How confidence, emotional control and tagged mistakes relate to results — patterns in yourself rather than in the market.
Trade Log
The full table. Select one trade to view its chart or edit it, or select several to delete them together.
Goals
Weekly or monthly targets whose progress updates from your recorded trades. Percentages are worth reading only once a meaningful number of trades has closed.

Before you buy
Does Xynara Trade Journal upload my trading data anywhere?
No. Trades are stored in a local SQLite database inside the application folder and screenshots in a folder beside it. There is no account, no login and no cloud sync.
Can I get my trades back out of the app?
Yes, and this matters. Trades export to CSV or Excel as a portable table you can analyse elsewhere or re-import. Separately, a one-click full backup packages the complete database and every screenshot into a single ZIP. There is no lock-in.
Is Xynara Trade Journal a subscription?
No. It is a one-time purchase for a perpetual licence on Windows 10 and 11. There is no recurring fee and no limit on the number of trades you record.
Can I import my existing trade history?
Yes. The Import Data tab accepts CSV and Excel files and proposes a column mapping. Review every field before confirming — check Entry, Exit, Stop Loss, Take Profit, Position Size and Actual P&L in both the mapping and the preview, because a misplaced column produces wrong metrics. Duplicates already in your journal are skipped.
Which markets and instruments does it support?
Market, method and indicator fields are free-form and configurable, so the journal suits stocks, forex, futures, options, cryptocurrency and index trading. Currency and default market are set in Settings.
What does the psychology tracking actually measure?
Each trade can carry a confidence score, an emotional-control score and mistake tags. The Psychology view groups P&L by those scores and tags, showing whether your best results come from your calmest trades and which habits cost you money.
How many trades before the analytics mean anything?
Breakdowns unlock at twenty closed trades and win rate by strategy needs five closed trades per strategy, deliberately, so conclusions are not drawn from too small a sample. Goal percentages are worth reading on the same basis.
How do I update without losing my trades?
Take a full backup from Settings first, then replace only the program files supplied with the new version — never your database or user-data folders. Launch the new executable and confirm your trades and screenshots appear before removing the previous copy.
Does it need Python or any installation?
No. The download is a self-contained folder. Double-clicking the executable starts the application, which opens in your browser and runs entirely on your own machine.
Is there a user manual?
Yes. A two-page PDF manual covers getting started, importing trade history, reading every chart, and updating safely. Read the manual, or watch the tutorial playlist. The PDF manual is also included inside every download.
